  • [SOLVED] What's the difference between .cab and .dat files? Am I fully installed?

I have the Special Edition New .cabs on my hard drive, which includes 4 folders like: SE_Vol-1_Brass_v01.  Does this mean they are installed and ready to use?  I also have a directory next to it that is shown as 100SpecialEdition which has over 100 SpecialEditionxxx.dat files in it.  Are these the same things as my Special Edition New .cab files?

    Probably a really dumb question.

    Thanks.

Note:  Info on my rig below is out of date

  • Hi,

Your downloaded installation files (*.cab files, highly compressed) have to be installed (=extracted) to become the actual sample content.

In the installation process, the location of this sample content is added to your Directory Manager automatically.

If the sample content is not installed yet, simply click "INSTALL" in the Download Manager!

    Best,
