  • SE1 - Preset Horns switches

I notice that the preset switch between "Horn triple" and "Horn ensemble - a4" is G1 and G#1. Whilst this is outside of the range of the Horn ensemble, it is within the range of the Horn triple.

Is this a mistake, or "working as designed"?  If the latter, how do I switch within a channel from Horn triple to Horn ensemble without producing an audible G#1?

  • Simply change the preset switches to notes which lie outside the ranges of both instruments.

  • Why didn't the creator of the presets do that?

  • Hi ceg,

That must have been an oversight, sorry about that.

  • Lowest mapped note of the Triple Horn is A1. That's already a whole tone lower than the official possible playrange of a horn.

So there should not be any overlap with keyswitches.

If you do any additonal stretching of the playrange (which is possible within VI PRO), you have to alter the Matrix keyswitches.
