  • VEP5 Kontakt and Cubase

    Hello all,

I have been sucessful implementing VEP5 with Cubase and the multi timbral Kontakt, except that no matter what I do, I get midi channel one playing when I select any other of the 16 midi channels. Any ideas how to isolate midi channel one from the rest? I could just mute channel one and have 15 individually addressed channels, but that seems unnecessary. Maybe that's a limitation of VEP5 with Kontakt and Cubase 7.5 on the mac platform. I'm not sure. If I get the problem resolved, I'd be glad to post a youtube video on how to implement VEP5 with Cubase and multi-timbral Kontakt.

    Appreciate any input.

    Thanks,

    Bill

  • Hi,

Insert VE PRO as a multi-timbral instrument in Logic PRO (you get 16 MIDI Channels).

Insert Kontakt in VE PRO and choose OMNI as the MIDI channel, it will receive MIDI information from MIDI tracks 1-16 from Logic.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Since your using cubase. you should be be able to activate the multi-timbral "activate All outputs in your VST rack Then in VEPro add in extra tracks with the plus sign and assign them each outputs then you should be able to make them match up and such.
