VI Pro Humanization on VI Jazz Drums?
hi, i am thinking about upgrading to VI Pro. mainly because of the humanizer.besides the jazz drums i use the upright bass and solo strings for which the humanizer should be a nice add on. but i am not sure using it on the drums. i am no drummer but i would think that in reality every hit on a drum differs in the pitch a little bit because of strength and speed, but thats only a guess. does anybody here has experience with humanizing the jazz drums? would it make the jazz drums sound more realistic? thanks

My music uses drums heavily. I don't have this particular library, but will offer a couple of more general observations.
Since you don't seem to have direct experience with drums, you're kind of guessing out of the blue or your learning curve is out of abstraction.
I think this particular tool isn't suited so much for drums in the first place, a lot of what it's doing has to do with envelope, 'finding pitch' in time, which doesn't apply. I don't use it for the VSL Percussion.HOWEVER the thing I'm using, BFD2 and now to BFD3, I do set certain things 'pitch to velocity', according to their character in real life. Mallets on certain toms for instance. Amplifying pitch response that's built into the handling according to velocity is something pretty different than this, which is made for 'finding and/or failing to hold pitch' and creating different players in ensemble to more resemble what happens with wind and strings, of course.
[I could use it for 'Concert Toms' in VSL Percussion, but I'd be guessing and futzing around as well, to my way of thinking to not very good cost:benefit.]
