    Your computer and/or OS sets the limit. Otherwise the limit for number of instances would be 2,147,483,647. The amount of RAM would be limited to 16,777,215 TB. Connecting to those instances could be a limiting factor, since the maximum number of sockets is 65,535 per IP-address. In reality, the number of simultaneously opened file descriptors poses a problem as well,especially on Mac.

    I doubt these are the limits you will run into, however, there are probably hundreds of other OS kernel limitations that would appear before the above 😊
