  • Vienna Instruments Standalone crashes when sound browsing

Hi, I just switched on Mavericks + logic pro X on Mac 2x2,8GHz quad core intel xeon. I re-installed My vienna SE and SE+ and it works fine. Except Vienna Instruments Standalone that crashes when sound browsing (the Mac colored wheel). Any idea to solve this ? Thanks !! jmb

  • Hi jmbz, I think I have the same issue; just reinstalled SE on iMac (Mavericks) - all works fine with Logic X, but just get the dreaded wheel in Standalone. Did you find a solution? Cheers, Ken.

  • Hi Ken, Sorry, and bad news … no solution found ! Sept 29th Hi jmb, Worth a try: Disconnect your Audio card, open VI and choose "INternal I/O" as your soundcard. If it works then, it must be something with your SSD driver... but I really wouldn´t worry about it too much, if you don´t necessarily need VI Standalone... Best regards, Paul Steinbauer I tried everything and quit to find a solution after that. It never worked ! If ever you find a solution, I’ll take it ! Best, jmbouchez@free.frcommunity@vsl.co.at>

  • Thanks for that JMB. It's not a huge deal for me as it functions OK with Logic. But I just like things to work as they should. I'll certainly be in touch should I find a solution. Cheers, Ken.

  • Ken, I am excatly in the same state of mind. That's why I was surprised when Paul S asked "Out of curiosity: Why are you using the VI Standalone?" ....??
