  • Rachmaninoff mockup ?

    Hello,

It should be interesting to make a Rachmaninoff concerto mockup (#2 and/or #3). I don't have any time giving to this but maybe some of you ?

    Thanks

    Or would it?

I don't think there's much in a Rach Piano Concerto that would strecth VSL.

How about something that pushes at the boundaries. I played in a performance of Carmina Burana yesterday. There are plenty of whacky examples of orchestration and instrumental technique in there which would seriously stretch a VSL mock up at this time - all those string harmonics, muted brass, flutter tongue, strange ensembles, heaps of detailed percussion, and of course full chorus and childrens's choirs. A real test for the mock up artist as well.

Come on VSL lets have the goodies to be able to do Carmina Burana.

  • I wouldn't even bother unless an actual HUMAN was playing the piano. All the programmed MIDIs I've heard of Piano Concerto no. 2 are horrendous.

Yeah Johnson, they are. I just ordered the piano sheet music for the second concerto the other day, and I think it would be extremely hard to program the notation at that speed into VSL. But SyQuEst, I'll play around with VSL a bit, and I'll post it if it sounds good. [:)]
