  • Varying BPM in Performance Set

    Hi there

Has any one any thoughts on this concept?

I'd like my orchestra to play several bars of perfectly legato repeated chords - where the chords change every two bars or so. So, I'm looking to use the Performance Set 'Perf Rep' files with the Performance Tool (Rep mode)... but the BPM options vary from instrument to instrument.

Can it work? OR is there another way?

    Many thanks
    Neil

  • As long as the tempo of your piece is faster than the Performance originals, their atcual tempo doesn't matter.

  • Hi Neil!

The Tempo of the Performance Repetitions always shows the lowest possible playing speed of this articulation.

Your system will work, when you pick the right Performance Repetition for your speed.

Legato Repetition = Slow, around 4-120
Portato Repetition = Medium, around 8-120
    Staccato Repetition = fast, 16-120

And there are additional "fast repetitions" with fixed tempo from 16-150 to INSANE (16-220 with the fastest instruments).

    Greetings, Paul

Also, have a look at Herb´s MIDI Tutorials:

  • I see. I am reassured that it will work ... though it confuses me as to actually how! I can live with that!

Thanks guys - I will take your advice.
