  • "fast" and "slur"?

What is 'fast' in these patches:

    • /A -  String patches/25 Violins appassionata/41 Sordino PERF INTERVAL FAST/01 VI-20_mu_perf-legato_fa
    • /A -  String patches/25 Violins appassionata/41 Sordino PERF INTERVAL FAST/01 VI-20_mu_perf-legato_fa_slur

Is 'fast' describing the speed of the transition, or something else? The transition in

    /A -  String patches/25 Violins appassionata/41 Sordino PERF INTERVAL FAST/01 VI-20_mu_perf-legato_fa

sounds slower than this one, which isn't called 'fast':

    /A -  String patches/25 Violins appassionata/40 Sordino PERF INTERVAL/01 VI-20_mu_perf-legato_Vib

What is the 'fast' patch faster than?

Also, what does 'slurred' mean in these:

    • /A -  String patches/25 Violins appassionata/40 Sordino PERF INTERVAL/01 VI-20_mu_perf-legato_slur
    • /A -  String patches/25 Violins appassionata/41 Sordino PERF INTERVAL FAST/01 VI-20_mu_perf-legato_fa_slur
Does 'slurred' describe the speed of the transition, or does it describe something else?
The only thing I'm sure of is that 'port' has the slowest transition. I don't understand the differences among the rest of these perf-interval patches. Thanks

  • Fast means that the transition is edited so that fast notes can be played. Slur adds a little portamento to the legato, so that the edges of the succeeding notes are blurred and not clean.
