Hello,
I've been reading up on Paul Gilreath's guide to MIDI orchestration. He suggests the following to create variations on instruments (to make multiple out of one, which comes in handy for e.g. unisono playing in trombones if you haven't got the samples): 1) changing velocity layers; 2) Use a dynamic filter 3) duplicate the bank and modify the new bank's keymap so that each chromatic assignment is raised by one semitone. This way each note uses a different sample. This 3) I really do not understand. Can someone explain what it is (please refer to Video's, even if they are from other manufacturers than VSL) and tell me if it is possible with Vienna Instruments Pro? Other suggestions than the ones from Paul Gilreath are always welcome!
Thanks in advance,
Pieter

google "transposition trick". It should be possible if you can get the pitch-wheel to alter the pitch by a semitone. I haven't tried it personally.
