  • "Mic" reference in MIRacle preset descriptions?

In MIRacle, each preset includes a description, e.g. for preset Grosser Saal Hybrid: "Created as a Master Bus insert for Vienna Konzerthaus - Grosser Saal Mic 2 - 7th Row. ! Set MIR REV. TIME to...."

What is the signifiance of the reference to "Mic 2"? At first I thought, maybe the intent is that I should route output from Mic 1 and Mic 2 separately and apply this MIRacle preset only to Mic 2; but that can't be right, since it says the preset is intended as a Master Bus insert. So, is there something I should be considering about Mic 2 when I use this MIRacle preset?

  • Microphon Positions either carry numbers in the Venue Selection dialog window, or (in case of RoomPack 1 - Vienna Konzerthaus) they are referring to in the order of their appearance in the list. "Mic 2" in Grosser Saal is "7th row", therefore.

A sidenote: Please, don't take these descriptions as rules. They are just meat as a short indication of the circumstances these presets were created in, and how I used them back then. They might fit many other purposes, too. And even if you recreate my setups down to the letter they still might sound _awful_ in the context of your mix, just because the music is different. :-) - BTW: If you happen to like another algorithmic reverb with lots of tail modulation, switch of its early refelctions and try to use it instead of MIRacle!

In the end, let you ears decide.

    Kind regards,

I'd like to become less reliant on presets someday, but for now I'm an unskilled, possibly inept, mixer working on headphones only, so presets are probably better than the alternative.
