  • Importing a MIDI file in Cubase and sending it to Vienna Instrument PRO instead of Halion Sonic...

    Hi,

I have Cubase 7.5, and when I import a MIDI file, every channel is sent to the Halion Sonic SE VST instrument. Ideally, I want every channel to be sent to my Vienna Instruments PRO in predefined patches when importing a midi file. For example, Violins would go to Chamber Violins, etc. Trying to gain some time here. Is this possible? Or do I have to manually assign each channel?

    Thanks!

  • If your arrangement of instruments and channel assignments is the same for every MIDI file, you could load up an instance for each channel in Vienna Ensemble with for example, Chamber Violins the same channel as violins on Halion Sonic. Then you can save the VE layout and reuse it for every MIDI file with the same channel/instrument assignment.

  • Thank you. Although I don't have Vienna Ensemble... Trying to do something similar with Cubase.

  • If you have Vienna Instruments, you also get Ensemble (not PRO) free [:D]
