Hi There,
I've recently pulled all the hair from my scalp while trying to solve this problem, I really need some help with it: I'm trying to connect my Mac Pro to two different machines via its 2 ethernet connections. Both connections work, but only if they are first within the Network Preferences' Service Order and I can only only have one of these in first position at any one time — the second connection in the Service Order will remain active and green-lit, but the specific programs on the two machines (Mac Pro and its connection via second ethernet port) will no longer see each other.
Tech details below:
I'm running a new Mac Pro with Mavericks as my master computer (Cubase 7.5), this connects to a PC with Windows 7 Pro via crossover cable (which hosts my samples and VE Pro 5). I've currently got this first in the service order and it works fine.
I also run a Mac Mini that hosts Pro Tools 11. The only function of this machine is to host video footage and chase Cubase 7.5 (Mac Pro) via the Audio MIDI Setup (Midi Network) across the second ethernet port. If this is first in the service order it works, but in second place it just won't work.
I need both these connections to work simultaneously. Is there a way for either VE Pro 5 or Audio MIDI Setup to look for a specific ethernet port? I would like to connect directly to the Mac Pro if possible, as it will be nightmare trying to get a switch installed in the room.
Thanks for reading.

try this for your Slave Mac. You can also try it for your PC
