I'm not sure if this is due to my setup or my approach, but I have the following:
Logic 9.1.8
Vienna Instruments 5.3.13260
OSX 10.9.3
I am just now getting into VSL and trying to work with it and I ran into an issue where I couldn't send volume controls on different channels in Ensemble (due to CC9 vs CC11 or something similar from a another forum I guessed). I tried the patching file for logic (VEP Multiport Layer.logic) from needful things, but due to my limited knowledge of Logic and VE, I assumed this was only for PRO and couldn't be converted. I decided to just add 8 or so instruments to my logic session and things were moving along. I decided I needed one more instrument, which I added it just the same as others and it crashed Logic. I reloaded Logic, tried again, and it crashed. On the next reload though, it now won't even open my logic file.
I still cannot get it to launch (after many attempts, reinstalls, pref file clearings, safe loads, 32/64 bit switching, etc). I am continually faced with a Kernel error:
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGABRT)
Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000051
I guess I am curious is this due to too many VI's in one session or if it's just something quirky with my setup. I understand VE is the best way to go, but I would really like to use volume controls due to the limited amount of dynamics available in the Special Editions. Thank you for any tutorials or advice you all can provide.
