  • Orchestral Strings runs in MIDI

Hello everyone. Help me with this issue please. I need some Orchestral Strings runs. Maybe some of you know if there is a library of such runs in MIDI. Maybe something like Nicolas Slonimsky’ thesaurus in MIDI formats. I would appreciate any link. Thanks

  • VSL has plenty of runs. It also has plenty of other patches that you can use to play your own.

  • Thanks DG. Can I buy those runs or patches separately or they are in a certain bundle? I have Appassionata Strings Bundle and I did not find String runs patches I need. Thanks.

Yeah that would be kind of like going to the grocery store and opening up a loaf of bread because you only want to buy a few slices to make a sandwhich instead of buying the whole loaf.

The grocery store would kind of frown on that[:(]

Seriously, it would be a nightmare trying to issue individual licenses for individual articulations.

The App Strings only have Grace runs, but you can play any run you like using the Perf trill patches. There might even be some slur patches for App (I can't remember) and if there are, these will work even better.

Sure, but there are lots of places where you can buy a slice of bread instead of buying the whole loaf. No need to buy a plane to fly to NY once. I did not mean the VSL grocery when I asked my question initially. I meant sites with libraries of String runs in MIDI. By the way which VSL instrument (or bundle) has String runs? Something like Orchestral Strings Run from Orchestral tools. Thanks

I'm sorry.  I didn't realize you wanted to use the string runs only once and never again.  Because if you want to use that articulation again and again for future projects, etc. It might actually be economically prudent to buy that plane that will fly you to New York again and again.

But getting back to your question... I recall you said you had App. Strings Bundle?  The grace runs and the performance trills are only available in the extended library of the bundle.  Do you have the extended?

Here's a link to the sample content that might help:

Thanks jasensmith. Yes I have the extended bundle, but it has not quite the same what I wanted. Thanks anyway.
