  • VEP Change colour, name or output for multiple channels

Today I updated VEP to latest version, cause i stuck to a very old one since i´ve had trouble with a certain update version.

It was always pain to colour or name channels within big templates, cause you ´ve got to do it one by one. So I expected this effort being obsulete with latest version. But no, or can anybody tell me how?

  • You can select multiple channels, 'shift-click' and color [or name] all at once. Naming automatically numbers them L-R.

  • Thanks for answer. Nope. I can make multiple selection, but only the channel selected first changes colour or name. I´m on Mac.

  • It works here. 5.3.13240. OSX.6.8.

  • Same as I. Strange, couldn´t get it work.

  • Okay. I´ve got it. In preferences i have to check: Automatically edit selected channels as group. Sorry. Kind of beginners fault.

Thanks for your input, made me hang on to it.

  • Hi,

To color multiple channels you have to select all of them (SHIFT-click). Then, hold ALT and right-click to select "Change Color". It should work.

You can apply the same technique to rename multiple channels but the names will get an increasing numbering. For example, if you select 3 channels, hold ALT and rename them "Trumpet", you will have Trumpet 1, Trumpet 2 and Trumpet 3.

  • Indeed so. And enabling the 'Automatically edit selected channels as group' preference reverses the behavior of the Alt key. So Alt-rightclick will edit a single channel in that case.
