  • Mirx and Vienna Suite

I already own the Vienna Suite with beautiful reverbs. Do I need Mirx? I tried it and is very good (and practical!), but I'm a little confused: Mirx could substitute some functions of Vienna Suite (pan, convolution etc.)?

  • Depending on you needs and habits, Vienna Suite and MIRx can offer comparable solutions for similar tasks, but only to a certain extent. There are quite a few areas where only the one _or_ the other will do the trick, e.g. dynamic processing like compression/limiting (Vienna Suite only) or source-conscious spatial mixing (MIRx only).

In other words: MIRx and Vienna Suite aren't meant to replace each other. If you have only mostest experience with mixing music, MIRx will give you meaningful results with little effort. If you need professional, release-ready results, additional polishing and processing will be needed, using tools like the ones offered by Vienna Suite's plug-ins.

    Hi Matteo

I use MIRx in combination with the convolution reverbs. Sometimes you need a really nice and extra depth for some instruments such as percussion instruments.

That could be the moment for using MIRx together with the other convolution mixes because it can offer "a lot of depth" without a lot of tail.

As you can make out the mix comes with a very nice transparency because of the different depths.

Remark: This is not THE fantastic composition, no it was done because I used a background music for this youtube video.

    All the best
