  • Lost VEP 5 AAX plugins on upgrade to Pro Tools 10/11 HD

Hi - I have been running Pro Tools native 10.3.7 with VEP 5.1.11947 (not latest, but had to downgrade - this is the most stable on my quad core 2.5 i7 laptop with 8GB RAM running OS 10.7.5).  As soon as I upgraded to Pro Tools 11HD, the first lauch warned me that VEP was not a legitimate 64 bit AAX plug in.  I did not allow it to move to the unused folder, but now Pro Tools won't even see it when I try to instantiate a plug in.   Any ideas would be most apprectiated.

    Thanks,

    John

  • Upgrade VEP to the latest version. I suspect that the version you are using may not even be 64bit, because it is quite old.

  • Thanks - was afraid of that - I shuttle work to a studio computer running OS 10.6.8, so later VEP versions weren't working at all there.   Can anyone confirm which version of VEP switched to 64 bit?

I have always connected to VEP as 64 bit server, but is that only 64 bit as far as the slave instances of VEP are concerned, and the master was still running the 32 bit version of the plug-in?

    Thanks,

    J

  • PT 11 is the first version of PT that is 64bit, so anything before that was released can only be 32bit.
