VI pro 2 matrices or non pro 2 matrices for Sibelius?
I bought some days ago Vienna Instruments Pro 2. I use it with Vienna Ensemble standard and Sibelius 7.5 as master software. My collection is: Special ed. 1, Spec. ed. string plus 1, Spec. ed. woodwinds 2. I noticed that there are VI pro 2 matrices and I changed my configuration (playback of 4 instances of VE) using the new matrices. But I read the pdf optimizing V in Sibelius and there is written: "Attention VI Pro users: only the normal VI matrices will work correctly – don’t use the VI Pro matrices". So... Which kind of matrices I have to use? Then, can I use more matrices in the same channel? For example basic, legato, strings+ and more? What is better to have all the benefits of VI pro 2? You have already answered your question yourself by quoting the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual. Use the normal Special Edition (or Special Edition PLUS) matrices and not the VI PRO matrices. If you load the normal matrices, you can use all the benefits of VI Pro nevertheless.
These matrices include all articulations of the Special Edition (or SE PLUS) collections. So there shouldn't be the need to load a second matrix.

Thanks Andi. But I noticed that in VI pro 2 matrices there are leg or perf leg that is different. I have to insert even these matrices? So, what is the reason to create VI pro 2 matrices? Or I have the same benefits with the normal matrices? I have some problem with legato in Sibelius 7.5, the sound is not good. Then in Sibelius, when I use manual sound set for every insatnce of Vienna Ensemble, do I have to uncheck send program change box? Thanks Cesare

I guess you are talking about the leg-speed-matrices, right? These matrices will not work with the sound sets for Sibelius. They do not contain additional patches, but offer the legato and portamento patches with different transition speeds (lengths). These speeds have been achieved with the Stretch tool of VI Pro. So if you want to change the speed of the legato or portmaento patches, you could load the leg-speed-matrix and copy a cell (or two) to the cell in your Special Edition matrix, where the normal legato patch is located.
You wright that the legato-sound is not good. What's not good about it? It's hard to find the problem without a more detailed description.
I think the send program change box on the Sibelius Manual Sound Sets page has no relevance with our instruments. Anyway, I would keep it unchecked.

Thank you very much. If you think that is better to copy some cell of perf leg in the matrix of normal special edition I will do it, if I will have some benefit. About legato problem: When I have a phrase in clarinet or violin (most of all) without legato it will be performed well with the right duration, if I add a slur it seems, listening, that notes overlap or they are not played with precision. I put on in polyphonic legato. This is a problem of Sibelius? Do I have to set something different? For example I use molto espressivo 2 in Sib 7.5. If I use mechanical (not expressive) this trouble sound doesn't change. Maybe I have to set something in dictionary? Thanks

Copying the cell as described in my previous post will not make legato "better" or "worse". It will make the transition slower or faster. In most cases I would leave the legato as it is.
I don't recommend the molto espressivo setting in Sibelius. In fact I think the mechanico or senza espressivo setting works best with our instruments. If you want to add human imprecisions to the performance, I would rather use the Humanize options of Vienna Instruments Pro.
With the "Vienna Symphonic Library" House Style loaded no editing of the Sibelius dictionary should be necessary.
