I can't get Sibelius to see the sound sets I have downloaded
Since I have purchased the Vienna Instruments about a week ago I have not been able to get the program to work anywhere, Sibelius, Ableton or on its own. The best I can get is to press get the sounds to come out of the virtual keyboard in standalone. I talked to some one at sweet water, they told me I needed to update sibelius to 7.1.3, which did not help. I've tried using the intersectional videos with no progress!!! I have a macbook air. I also do not currentl have the .dat files on an external, but I feel like it should still work. I told that Vienna should show up under playback devices, but it doesn't. When I try and add it as a plug in in ableton it comes up as a single track, instead of a 16 track plug in like in the video. Any help? It would be great to be able to talk to some one on the phone about this. I'm a noob but I feel like it shouldn't be this hard.

Hello Paul!
In order to make the Vienna Instruments multitimbral, please use our host plugin Vienna Ensemble. It has been installed together with the Vienna Instruments player.
I'm not sure where you were looking for our instruments in Sibelius. After installing the Vienna Instruments & Vienna Ensemble software, they should be available in Sibelius in the Playback Devices/Available devices list. Can you see Vienna Ensemble there? The latest version of the Vienna Instruments & Vienna Ensemble software can be downloaded here:
http://www.vsl.co.at/en/68/141/460/576/655.htmIf Vienna Ensemble doesn't appear there, I would try to rescan the plugins in the Audio Engine Options menu.
After activating Vienna Ensemble, you can select the sound set in the right column.
More help can be found in the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual and in our tutorial videos:

Hello Paul!
Can you please describe in more detail what you have done? Did you activate Vienna Ensemble? Did you load the Special Edition PLUS sound set? Did you make settings on the Manual Sound Sets page? Did you actually load instruments and the Special Edition PLUS matrices in Vienna Ensemble? Did you read the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual?
Best,
Andi

I loaded the sound set. I made the settings on the manual sound sets page. I couldn't load the instruments in Vienna Ensemble, I created instruments but couldn't load matrices. The screen shoot on page 4 of the manual looks different that what I have. I only see the light blue and grey screen when I have standalone open. When I have VE Service open it does not appear. Am I supposed to have Standalone open as well?

Hello Paul!
Don't use standalone Vienna Instruments or Vienna Ensemble with Sibelius. Please use the Vienna Ensemble plugin from your Sibelius Available devices list.
If Vienna Ensemble doesn't show up by itself after activating it, you can make it appear by clicking on the active device Vienna Ensemble in Sibelius, then "Show" and then in the Vienna Ensemble Service Interface on "Raise".

Vienna Ensemble Service (64-bit) already opens by itself. I can add a new instrument but after that the screen does not look like it does in the video or the optimizing playback pdf. It doesn't allow me to access the presets or matrices. The window in the optimizing play back that has a sub header of "basic view" doesn't show up. The whole screen is the dark blue color next to the "channel one" circled in red in the pdf.

Also I tried to click preferences when In Vienna Ensemble Service (64-bit) and it said: "No audio/MIDI settings are available in Service mode. For Service specific settings, please click on preferences in the Service window." not sure if that explains anything What is the difference between Vienna Ensemble and Vienna Ensemble Service

Hello Paul!
Your descriptions sounds like you didn't add any instrument in Vienna Ensemble. You can add instruments with the "VI" button in the lower left. Then you should see the Vienna Instruments interface.
To learn the basic usage of Vienna Instruments and Vienna Ensemble I recommend reading the software manuals and watching our tutorial videos:

I don't have a VI button, I added instruments manually by going to Channel then New instrument. But When I add an instrument the "Vienna Instruments" window does not show up. The window I am talking about can be found at 4:16 of the setup guide video. I also noticed on pg 9 of the Vienna Ensemble Manual, I don't have "Directory Manager" I looked in downloads and couldn't find it. Help?

Hello Paul!
Maybe you have installed an archive version of Vienna Ensemble without the Vienna Instruments software on your computer.
Please install the latest version of the Vienna Instruments & Vienna Ensemble software 5.3. It also includes the Directory Manager by the way.
