  • Clarinet Bb

I need to buy the clarinet in Bb with full library articulations. But I have a doubt : I have already Epic Orchestra Standard Library and in it there is the set Woodwings among which there is also the clarinet, with its range BUT along with other woods ... What is the differnce from Clarinet (Bb) of the Vienna Special Edition Vol. 1 and of the Special Edition Vol. 1 PLUS with this product? I also have the following: Special Edition Vol 1 Strings Special Edition Vol 1 Strings PLUS Special Edition Vol 2 Strings Special Edition Vol 1 Brass thanks

  • You would have to compare the sample content of both the SE Vol. 1 Clarinet Bb samples with the SE Vol. 1 Plus samples.  Look in your user area for the for each product's library manual which will give you a more detailed comparison.  Generally, I think the difference is you just get more articulations.  But you won't get all of them.

Another advantage to buying the single download instrument is that you will get all library articulations sampled at half tone rather than full tone.  The SE products sample whole tones.   It makes a difference[;)]

  • Sorry ... My question may look stupid ... what's the difference between sampled at half tone rather than full tone? thanks

Half Tone = You get a (new) sample each half tone.

Full Tone = You get a sample each full tone which means one sample is used for two halftones - so one of the two tones is not played with its original sound - it is "pitched".
