  • buying MIRx as a MIR Pro owner

    Hello friends,

does it make sense to purchase MIRx as MIR Pro owner. I mean will I profit from the easy setup of MIRx or is it a waste of money?

    Hi Alfred,

One _possible_ benefit I see is that you would get a nice "sketch-pad tool-kit" for those cases where fine-tuning and indiviual settings aren't necessary. Another one would be to get a cheap (although restricted) additional MIR-license for a second machine.

Other than that, since the introduction of the so-called "MIRx Mode" earlier this year, MIR Pro offers all the features and presets you would get from MIRx (.... provided you got licenses for the Venues covered by MIRx, of course).

  • Hello Dietz,

thank you for your fair advice. If I use MIRx on another machine (like my laptop) together with VI Pro - do I need another Dongle then?

  • Errr ... I'm not sure if I understood your question correctly, but yes - MIRx will need a license. Of course, it can be stored on the same eLicenser/Vienna Key as other licenses, but you will have to have a dedicated key for each seperate machine you're planning to use.

  • Sory for asking a stupid question afterall these years as a Viena user: if I want to have all my licences on a second key - do Ihave to pay the same price as for the first key?

  • In principle, you can have a license only once. Some of VSL's products allow for up to three individual sub-licenses from the actual license, on physically separated keys. Still you can't just "copy" one of those to yet another key.

So - assuming that I understood your question correctly: You can have different products on several separated keys. You can have sub-licenses of one and the same product on separated keys (and you can use them simultaneously). You can't have the same (sub-)license on more than one key, though.

E.g.: Vienna Ensemble Pro's license comes with three individual sub-licenses. OTOH, MIR Pro's license allows only for one key. - Please consult the Products' sub-pages of this site for details.

... in case you need more licenses for a product you already own, it's always a good idea to get in contact with  directly. The VSL marketing team is known for finding special solutions for special demands. ;-)
