articulations with finale 2012

Now all is working in Finale, I have no idea how to get the articulations to work. Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi jjmus,

   All is working means: 1) you use the Hp files for Special Editions or Keyswitch dumpfile for the entire VSL?

   Maybe you responded from something that was before and I did not see it. Could you be more specific? ....the articulations should work and can be also used pretty straightforward. Did you download the files and the help ones?

Yes I downloaded the Hp files for Special Editions, imported the human playback preferences as per instructed but Finale does not 'see' it. For example if I use the pizz articulation it does not play the pizz back (I have pizz loaded as a matrix) I tried the vsl keyswitch dumpfile but am unsure how to make use of it My work around is to assign arco and pizz to a controller and tell the articulations the number I define etc...this is working OK, but will get more complicated when using more articulations. I have special edition - special edition plus, and mallet percussion

Hello jjmus!

The Human Playback file works with the Special Edition Volumes 1 to 4, but not with the Special Edition PLUS Volumes, the Instrument collections and the Single Instruments. In your case I would use the keyswitch dump file in order to switch articulations. How to use this file is explained in the pdf file that comes with it.

Thanks for this...I have it working now and I must say its so easy! Great keyswitch set, and as you say it works with all my Vienna instruments. Thanks again,
