    Hi guys, been a while.

    With the 24 channel MIR, how does the 24 channel limitation work with drums? For example, if I am using mostly VSL instruments, but throw in some Zimmer inspired fake madness and a drummer and have separated the drums (for effects), does each drum count as a channel? Said another way, lets say I put a drummer on a stage, and do all of the panning/effects within the host (Battery or Superior or VEP 5 or whatever) and add that, the drummer will then be one track and even though the far left and far right will be slightly separated as per my instructions in the host, still within MIR that will appear as 'the drummer is basically in the center with a bit of separation". Is that correct?

    If you're sending one instrument, or placing one instance in MIR, it does not count as more than one for any reason outside of that assignment. You'll determine the positioning in MIR, if you're thinking it will be automatically centered that wasn't my experience. If you have a wide separation in the drum plugin the main room mic is not through itself going to make that very different, unless you do something with it that does.
