  • Vienna ensemble and Finale

All my Vienna instruments work fine, but I have to load then as single instances. I'd like to be able to use Vienna ensemble but I'm unsure how to do this. I tried telling the manage vst devices to look in a specific folder but nothing happened. I think the problem is that I can see the Vsl ensemble as a 64 bit DLL in windows explorer, but I can't see a 32bit one...which is what I need for Finale (when will Finale go 64 bit, it would make life easier)! Help please, I know not what I am doing!!!

  • Hello jjmus!

If you can't find it, I would reinstall the Vienna Instruments & Vienna Ensemble software.

Thanks Andi...will have a search for it. Hopefully I won't have to reinstall - in middle of a project!

  • No its not there....I don't want to reinstall at this stage as unsure how complex it is. I had the guys who built my DAW install it initially. Is there another option? Thanks

  • Well, if the file is not on your computer, it can't be loaded. There is no other way than installing the software then.

  • Yes, thanks. I'll have to wait until I've completed the project I'm on. Thanks for your speedy responses. Jill

  • If you're not using VE, there's no reason not to install it again. Actually, there's no reason even if you were using it. This software gets frquent updates, and installing them doesn't disturn existing projects.

When you install, both 32bit and 64bit versions are installed . Unless you deleted the 32bit dll, it has to be somewhere on your system.

Thank you! I've been under the (stupid because I'm working) misunderstanding that I would have to reinstall all my instrument samples etc. Duh!!! I will reinstall the VE and then hopefully find the 32bit dll. It all works fine in my recording software (Sonar) but that's 64 bit, but I have to use 32bit in Finale.

  • Success! :) Thank you so much for your help Andi and Bill. Finally have the VE in my notation program...not ever had it working before so this is just great Jill
