  • Vienna Hard Drive

This may be a monstrously stupid question: I don't get what you're actually getting with the Vienna Hard Drive. I mean, for 95EUR I presume it's just a blank hard drive, but.. "This external 750 GB USB hard drive contains the installation files of all existing Vienna Instruments Collections (formerly known as “DVD Collections”) as well as seven additional Single Instruments that have never appeared on any Vienna Instruments Collection." Considering to buy all that normally would cost thousands.. I'm confused?

    Hi Ccrash,

    Thanks for your inquiry.

As stated on the product web page of the Vienna Hard Drive:
'The Vienna Hard Drive does not include any Serial Numbers (Licenses).'

Basically, the Vienna Hard Drive is simply designed as an alternative to downloading all libraries, for customers with no or only a slow internet access. But also with a fast internet access: if you're interested in a big bundle, e.g., the Vienna Super Package, you might not want to download the 422 GB of data. 😉

    Best,

    Stefan

  • Even with a fast Internet connection I wish they had this when I started buying VSL products because I probably would have purchased it.  The nice thing about this hard drive is that when you buy a product all you have to do is enter the license on your Vienna key, plug it in, Directory Manager and you're ready to go.

No more waiting for cab. files to download then install on your machine which can take a lot of [O][O][O]

  • Hi,

Just to avoid the rather common misunderstanding: The Vienna Harddrive is a 5400 rpm drive that contains the installation data (cab files).

So the sample content has not been extracted yet, you´ll still have to install the files to a faster harddrive.

    Best,

    Paul
