Sibelius Playback Config
Hello, I'm working on a chamber piece with flute, clarinet, violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello, and piano. I have Vienna Special Edition (standard), and Solo Strings I (extended) libraries. I'm trying to get harmonics and for some reason I'm only able to get Vienna Ensemble to recognize the harmonics on violin 1. Violin 2 has the exact same settings and for some reason the harmonics won't sound. It just plays the regular note. Same issue for viola and cello. For some reason it works perfectly on violin 1. Very Confusing. Also for some reason I'm not able to get the custom commands to work. No matter what I put in the A6 cell using the "custom" or "custom1" commands doesn't seem to work. I downloaded and installed the latest soundset but how can I make sure the house style installed properly?

Hello LStephens84!
It can have different reasons why articulations do not switch as supposed. Please check the following things:
- Did you enable two Vienna Ensemble instances, one with the sound set VE Special Edition for the woodwinds and the piano, and one with the sound set VE Strings for the strings?
- Did you reserve a channel on the Manual Sound Sets page for all instruments in your score? You will need two Solo Violin programs/channels.
- Did you add the correct Sibelius instruments in the Sibelius 'i' menu? The Solo Strings will only work with the instruments "Solo Violin", "Solo Viola", ... They will not switch correctly with the Ensemble instruments. If you are in doubt, add the solo instruments to your score. Then cut and paste the content of your old staves to the new ones.
- If you have made manual output and channel settings in the Sibelius mixer, please reset all outputs to (Auto).Best regards,
Andi

Thanks Andi. I created new tracks and copy and pasted onto them which seemed to fix those problems. Now onto some new problems. I have a violin part which has whole notes playing tremolo for 3 bars. I have ties connecting the tremolo notes. For some reason the tremolo notes will play for one measure and then shuts off at the second measure. Any ideas how to get the tremolo to continue into the next measure as written? I have the exact same issue with harmonics. If a harmonic whole note is tied two or more measures the sound shuts off at the second measure. Thanks for your help!

Hello LStepehens84!
Please notice that the harmonics of the Solo Strings are not looped and will end after some time. In this case simply retrigger them. In your example I would simply remove the tie. The tremolo patch however is looped and shouldn't stop after one measure. Please make sure that you don't have a Playback length value entered in the Sibelius Inspector for the first note that gets tied.
Best,
Andi
