  • Pizzicato

I wish to set up a system where I have pizz 1 of each string section on one patch (ie violins, violas, cellos and basses pizz 1 all on 1 midi channel) I assume this is something I would do in the giga editor, resulting in everything being operated via 1 midi channel. Could anyone advise on how to do such a thing?

    Regards and thanks

  • sounds like a perfect use of gigastudio 3 "layering". In gigastudio 2, probably have to do it in the editor. But you could also handle such a thing in your sequenced recording, by duplicating the midi track for each instrument -- then you could add variances in panning and dynamics.

  • I guess giga 3 would do the trick, but alas am only on giga 2 at the moment and the editor terrifies me. Ideally looking for someone to talk me through how to do this as if I were a child! Point taken about the way of doing it at the sequencing end, but I really want it to be like the patches in the string ensemble folder where articulations are mapped over the keyboard for all instruments on one midi track. If anyone can help, I would be most grateful...

  • I have never gotten good enough at the editor to lead someone else through it -- but, if you haven't yet, you might post both at the gigastudio forum here and on the northersounds.com gigastudio forum.

Because you'll be using sets of samples with differing ranges, it may become a little complex -- but still possible, I feel sure.
