  • MIRpro update for The Sage Gateshead

Hi and thanks for the new MIR update.

Will there be an update for The Sage venue(Hall 1) with MIRx pre-configured placements and EQ settings etc? Hall 1 sounds amazing and it would be kind a weird not to include it for this great update.

    Thanks for your interest, EwigWanderer.

As I wrote in another thread, I understand that it is tempting now to ask for ready-mades for each MIR Pro Venue. While it's possible that there will be one or two Venues added to he already available selection of MIRx Presets, it's highly unlikely that I will do that for all Venues. Creating MIRx presets is very laborious (and boring beyond words, because I have to listen to the same test-sequences thousands of times 8-P ...); you can't have several people working on the same hall for consistency reasons, which makes it even more tedious.

... and in the end MIRx Presets are just starting points anyway, as there is no thing like an "out-of-the-box-mix", as little as there is an out-of-the-box composition or arrangement. 😊

BTW: Have you already tried the Venue Presets which are available for all MIR Pro Venues? They might be all you actually need. 😊

    Kind regards,

Hello Dietz and thank you for your reply.

Sorry I didn't know about the other thread.

I understand that it takes time. I was mainly interested about the roomEQ presets for Sage hall 1. Yes I have tried the venue presets and they were great. I mainly use 3rd party samples with MIR and I am getting better and better with the results.

I have to say that playing around with MIR has been fun...I'm finally getting close to "that" sound what I'm after. Jerry Goldsmith "The Edge" soundtrack (

) has great depth and air. Theres room and definition between the instruments so everything is clear and audible.

BTW: I'm using MIR as a plugin and don't have VEpro. Tried Venue presets with a demo of VEpro.

  • Actually it's quite easy to exchange MIR Pro's settings between the VE Pro-based version and the plugin - just save / load the Engine's settings. ... the main problem in case of the Venue Presets is that quite often MIRacle is part of the whole setup, and/or several Icons are placed on the stage already as memo or as suggestion. I would have to do Venue Presets for a dozen of hosts ...
