  • XP Compatibility

I realise VEPro isn't supported on Win XP, but I'm hoping someone other than the Vienna team might chime in here. I saw a post a month or so ago asking which version of VEPro last supported XP, and someone suggested that actually the latest version would run just fine - it's just not supported.

So I tried installing it on an old machine. First I got a missing dll error (wlanapi.dll) which I believe I sorted. Then when it stopped giving me that message, I got one saying it couldn't find the access point in msvcrt.dll. I checked, and there is a newer version of this dll, but I couldn't replace it, as windows seems to already have it loaded on booting. I tried it on a second XP machine, with the same result. So I'm a little stuck - and there's no guarantee that, when I do figure out how to replace this dll, it will solve the issue, or even be the last issue.

Has anyone actually got the latest build of VEPro running on 32bit XP?

you can also use this procedure to replace your current dll with a convenient one.

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • Thanks cm - I'll try and get my head around that.
