Hi All,
So I've been playing around with hosting QuickTime videos on a slave computer to see if it would alleviate CPU stress on my DAW computer. So far my technique (which works reasonably well) is to use MIDI over LAN (MOL III) to send MTC from my host computer (running Digital Performer 8.05) to my slave computer; the slave computer is also running DP 8.05 (solely for the purpose of hosting the video). I have DP on the slave computer set to receive sync via MOL.
Then it occurred to me... is there a way to use VE Pro to transmit timecode from DP on my host computer to DP on my slave computer, i.e., to do the job MOL is doing? Obviously VE Pro communicates via Ethernet extremely efficiently. Does this capability exist, and if not, might you (i.e. VSL) consider adding it?
Thanks,
Peter
