Thank you for the kind words. I updated now the files with the final version, better Eq and overal MIX.

Hi Fabio
Hi Johnstaf
Fabio, congratulation! Your Handel sounds great. You selected good sample combinations which are supporting the baroque style nicely.
Because I've done a lot of "Handel pieces" as well in the past I couldn't resist to public the following link to a piece of Handel's Watermusic too.
But I've done it in 2006! (remastered in 2010)
Handel Water Music, Nr. 8 Hornpipe
so this Handel is just for comparing the good old chamber strings and the good old mixing system(s) with the newer developments.
In any case it sounds different, doesn't it...
All the best and go on, Fabio

Thank you Beat! Nice meeting you around, as we did in the last 10 years ;)
Yes indeed the sound of Vienna strings was brilliant already in the first glorious years, (Chamber strings was my first VSL library!) but now we can really make it sound less "midish"! and by the way I'm in love with MIR and VE.

Yes maybe still they are a bit too rich in the high frequencies. I didn't use any real equalization, just the Instrument set up "colour" of MIR. I will try to smooth them (any suggestion is welcome :) )

Hey thankyou Stephane. I was following some of your posts about baroque music, nice to find a comment from you!

Hi Fabio,
Nice work, congratulations ! But in the mix, i hear the strings much at left and no much at right. It's curious because you are using mir and you should not have this kind of problem.
Very Best.

Bonjour Philippe,
nice to have you as well in this conversation! Yes you are right about the dominance of the right channel, due to a slightly eccessive importance of the first violins on the rest, and the positioning of both Oboes close to violins to follow one of the most common baroque practice: I changed the mix for the final release, to equilibrate the channels and yes, with MIR it's a matter of few clics experimenting different balance and looking for sweet spots on the virtual stage!
keep in touch!
