I'm trying to find a way to use my mic as a breath controller. I have Vienna Ensemble, not the pro version. My DAW is Reaper and I'm looking for a way to transform audio levels to midi levels. I have Vienna Instruments I found a plugin called Soma enveloper that does this, however the system isn't perfect. Only way I managed to get this working is to make new track where I'm recording audio and adding soma enveloper plugin there. How ever I need to keep monitoring on, so listening vsl samples is difficult since I'm hearing all sounds from mic much louder than the actual instrument. Lowering volume of audio track will also lower volume sent to midi track.
Another problem is that I don't know how to edit the track after recording it. If I remove audio track, it doesn't send data to midi track anymore. This means that every tracks needs to have also own audio track and in big orchestrations the project can get confusing with lot of extra tracks. I can't edit the automation afterwards. If I want some part be louder I need to modify somehow the audio track. Recording the automation somehow would be great but I haven't figure out any way to do it.
So I'm open to all suggestion how to make this setup working and use my mic as breath controller.
