Upgrade?
Hi I am currently using Vienna Special Edition, which I've had since before the new Special Edition volumes came out. It has the standard instruments, but includes the Extended Library, which appears to be what the new Vienna Special Edition Volume 2 is. The included extended library can be unlocked at the website, and I was wondering how much it would cost to unlock that library? Or is this no longer an option? If it were still an option, it would appear that I would end up with the equivalent of the Special Edition Volumes 1 and 2, but without the plus editions with the extra articulations. Philip

Hi Paul Thanks for the quick reply. Would an upgrade to Vol 2 be a good move, or would you consider other upgrade paths better value? There are quite a few alternatives, for instance I see on the following page: http://www.vsl.co.at/en/211/261/2124/2245/1917.vsl Symphonic Cube The Vienna Super Package Would these be very good alternatives to going for Special Edition Vol 2? Hi Paul please ignore last question. The upgrade price listed said 295 but I misread it. not realising that was the amount of discount, rather than the discounted price. However the other part of the question still stands. Is Vol 2 the best upgrade for me, or are there better value upgrades? Philip

I tried putting two upgrades into the checkout to see how much I would have to pay. Whether it was Vol1 Plus or Vol2 Plus, I found that I was going to be charged the full price. Is this correct? Philip

Hi Phil,
Upgrade prices are only available if you purchase a product that contains samples you have already registered.
All other Special Edition Volumes contain ADDITIONAL samples to your SE VOL 1 = no upgrade price.
Best,
Paul

Hi Paul, I have Vienna Special Edition, which I believe is equivalent to Special Edition Vol 1. When I chose the Orchestral String Bundle, which is an upgrade from SEVol 1, no discount appeared in the Checkout. If no discount appears, I assume I'm not getting any discount, yet the Orchestral String Bundle contains samples I have already registered. It appears that as I don't actually have Special Edition Vol 1 by name, even if is essentially the same as what I do have, then I'm not entitled. Is this the case, or will discount be applied before purchasing? Philip

Hello Phil,
As explained on our Upgrade information page, "Special Edition products are deducted from the list prices of Extended Libraries of Single Instruments andInstrument Collections."
You were probably looking at the Standard Library.
Best,
Paul

Hi Paul May I refer you to this page: http://www.vsl.co.at/en/211/261/2124/2245/1917.vsl. which shows the discounts for upgrading from the various Special Editions. The discount shown for Strings Complete from SE Vol 1 is 135 euros. When I put that in the checkout, there is no discount showing, and I am expected to pay the full price of 2,290 euros. If I am entitled to a discount for that upgrade, why does it not show? Philip
