Bug? Can't Add FX?
Hello, I upgraded to the new build of Vienna Ensemble Pro yesterday. I like the colors, but right now, I am completely unable to add new FX to a channel. This is the second time that I've noticed this bug. Is anyone else experiencing this? But this is a big deal, as I'm sure you know, and I hope VSL fixes it soon.

I am using Mountain Lion 10.8.5. Running VE pro through Logic Pro X. VE version 5.2.12785. Oh and I noticed it as soon as I installed the new version of VE. It seems to happen every time I load a new project, and if I copy over an existing FX (by option dragging), then it seems to trigger something. The biggest problem I had, was when I loaded a VE frame that didn't have any FX in it yet. There was no way to add a new FX, no matter what I tried. Eventually, I remembered that I had a Channel Set saved, with an FX plugin in it, so I loaded that, and option dragged the FX, and that did it.

You are asking me a question that I cannot answer. Maybe I am confused, but I wouldn't know that, because I am confused.
The first image is a screenshot of the problem as it currently stands. This is what it looks like every time I open a project. There is no way to add a new AU FX on those channels.

IF, I option drag an existing effect onto another channel, it triggers something in VEP, and then begins to look like the second image. You can see, now it is quite easy to add a new AU FX.

Yes, I'm experiencing the same thing here (latest VE Pro/VI Pro updates, Mac OS 10.7.5). Clicking on the FX slot does nothing; right-clicking on the FX slot brings up a drop-down menu that includes "insert plug-in," but not FX plug-ins. FYI if you open an old project that has plug-ins instantiated already, they come up, and you can drag a plug-in from a channel that has one to a channel that doesn't, but you can't instantiate a new FX plug-in (including Vienna Suite).
ACTUALLY... in trying this, I've discovered that that's a workaround. Once you've dragged an FX plug-in from one channel to another, extra insert slots are created on all channels of the VE Pro project you're working on. After that, you can instantiate FX the usual way.

I was actually so used to adding FX, by clicking the FX button on each of the instruments listed in the channels list that I didn't ever really know another way to add FX on the channel itself. However, I did notice in the mixer view, you still have the FX and SND sections. I can work with that. I was just surprised that the FX button was missing from the right-hand side channels view in between the midi port, midi channel, and output button. But now that I know how to add FX, there are no worries. You just need to go to the mixer view to see it. Thanks!
