  • Will my existing VSL instruments work in Pro Tools 11?

I apologize if this question has been asked before, but a search didn't turn up anything. I'm a very small-time user of VSL instruments, but I really like them. I have the Chamber Strings 1 & 2, and use them for string parts on acoustic singer/songwriter stuff. The more I use the Chamber Strings, the more I want to get more VSL stuff. Currently, I'm on PT 10.3.7, but I'd like to move to PT11 as soon as I can. So - will my Chamber Strings work in a 64-bit environment? Or do I need to move to VE Pro 5? I'm working on the assumption that I'll need to go for VE Pro 5, but thought I'd double check. I know it would be an improvement in workflow, and would free up resources on my Mac, but there's a difference between "would be nice" and "have to do it". Many thanks, Myles

    Hi Myles,

All our software works great on PT11, and you don´t need to use VE PRO ---- although it will be worth checking it out with a free demo license (click "try") if you are working with samples a lot.

Especially with PT, VE PRO also allows you to integrate your 32 bit plug-ins (which won´t open in PT 11 anymore).

    Best,

    Paul

Hi, Paul - Thanks for your reply. I guess what I'm confused about is whether or not my Chamber Strings are 32 bit... i.e., they won't work in PT11? Regards, Myles

  • It's not Chamber Strings that you should worry about, it's the VI Player, and AFAIK there is a 64bit AAX version of the software, so there is no reason it shouldn't work.
