  • Vienna Special Edition Woodwinds

Well, I'd like to say again... Vienna, I love your products!!! These woodwinds are so beutiful! I own a few libraries now such as EWQLSO Silver edition, but so far I am amazed at the quality of these intruemtns you guys provided. I recently purchased your special edition strings a few weeks back and instantly enjoyed those! My music is really benefiting from these libraries. I am looking to save up for your effects suite series! I tried the trial a while ago and I was quite impressed with those too.

I just have one quick question. What sample rate and bit quality are the libraries released at?

    Regards,

    Richard

  • Hello sururick,

Thanks for the feedback, that´s always great to hear!

We are recording all samples at 96 kHz/24 bit, they are than processed at 32 bit floating point.

All samples are released at 44.1 kHz/24 bit, and we´re using an optimized loss-less real-time decompression process with Vienna Instruments (PRO), so that the samples only take 2/3 of the data size on your harddrive and your RAM (the size of 16 bit samples), while you get 24 bit quality at playback.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Thanks again for the great information. I think you guys did a great job in selecting the silent stage setup. When comparing my other libraries today and based on my own taste, your instruments really do make a shine. That concert flute!!! real good stuff! Soon as I replaced my other flute from my other library with this I noticed an imediate positive diference.

Just another question, are the speical edition intruments different recordngs of the instruments than your main instruments (symphonic cube, etc)?

    Regards,

    Richard

  • Hi Richard,

the instruments contained in Special Edition are derived from the same recordings as the full versions. They are edited and mapped differently, though, and of course the number of samples and articulations is much smaller.

    Kind regards,
