  • [SOLVED] Vienna Suite: Bug found...? (1862)

    Hello,

I seem to have stumbled on a very annoying bug when I updated my VI Suite today. Using Hybrid Reverb on normal audio tracks within Cubase create a lot of clipping errors. I tried to play around with all related settings, drivers, latency, bit rate etc. but no cure. Once I went back to 1.5.1833 problem gone.

In this specific case I run another VST plugin on which the audio outputs I use the Hybrid Reverb. Does anyone else have this issue? Kind of annoying since I really want to use the EQ presets for the Dimension Cellos...

    Best Regards

  • Bump! Still having this problem. No one else sharing this issue?

  • Hi,

Would you like to share what the specific VST plug-in is that you are using with Hybrid reverb?

  • Oh right. Of course - Superior Drummer 2 by Toontrack.

  • i have this problem as well, in Logic 9.

what i have noticed is that when i play back any track that has Hybrid on it, if that track is currently selected (even if its the "parent" track for VE) the problem does NOT occur.

However, if i then, say, select a different track, for example a Logic instrument track, as my currently selected 'live' track, the weird artifacting shows up. It'l like a weird glitchy/FSU effect; like super-reduced bit-rate sounding kind of effect. It's slightly annoying, but the work around (for ME, anyhow) is fairly simple: when i play something back, just make sure the track that has the Hybrid verb on it is selected. Not a perfect fix, but i've gotten used to it. Have my main buffers in Logic set at 256, but i will mess around with it and see if i cant get the problem to go away.

  • Hi jhonny, Hi mplaster,

We were not able to reproduce the behavior you are describing here.

Could you please update to the current Vienna Suite 1.5 build 1877 - is the problem persistent?

If it is, please send zipped copies of simple projects (preferrably only using VSL, Spectrasonics and/or, say, Native Instruments products, so we can be sure to be able to open them!), which show this glitch, to , so we can better look into this issue.

    Best, Marnix

  • Hi,

    I just tried with Spectrasonics Omnisphere as well. Same issue. Sample;

    Piano-Clipping

The meters are fine. No other plugins used. VEP instance /w MIR etc. work fine.

  • There is a problem with th Hybrid reverb trhat makes it unusable on some instuments. It seems to be the ones with a lot of low frequencies. For example:

    1. Load up VI with the Bass drum on an Instrument track.
    2. Add Hybrid as an insert
    3. Play a note at a high velocity
    4. There will be loads of crackling in the tail.
