How to install MIRx from USB

Sorry but I can't understand how to install MIRx. I bought the larger hall which has arrived on a USB stick. I have the licence for MIRx plugged in to the computer. I've installed the latest download manager and latest VI Pro. Folder 5 on the USB stick has three venues. I assume I have to run the one named R22. but I can't see how to run this to install it - and where is the MIRx software run setup itself? Are these two separate pieces of software? The paper leaflet with the USB stick refers to MIRx Reverb Mixing Extensions folder which I can't find at all. Can anyone spell out the steps. (By the way, this computer is not connected to the Internet - do I need also to download a *.vsldownload file? If so, where is it?)

MIRx, the software, is part of Vienna Instruments PRO. 

On the software stick, click "Install (your OS)" for the product you´d like to install. This will start the installation process. 

If that doesn´t work, please contact me at  with a few screenshots, so that I can see what you see!

Hello Paul, thanks for your quick reply. I can't see 'install (your OS)' anywhere. Inside the RR22 folder there is only an MD5 text doc, package info and set-up-MIRx Venue (etc) which doesn't do anything if I double or right-click. The install instruction is not visible on the next level up either where the 9 folders for all the software can be seen. I'm looking directly at the USB stick content. Am I supposed to load it via the download manager or other piece of software?. At this point I do not have any other Vienna software open.

Hi Oceanview, 

You can simply start the LIBRARY INSTALLER that is in your "Vienna Instruments" folder and point it to the package.info file, that will start the installation right away. 

I don´t have the Software Stick here with me, but I´ll check tomorrow.

Hello Paul - thank you - that worked a treat. I now have the USB R22 folder installed on my E drive along with all my other Vienna audio. However, I also have found that Vienna is not working properly. I have been away from it for months. When I load a score in Sibelius Vienna Ensemble opens but no instruments load and VI Pro (the new version) is not loading either.so I can't yet check if MIRx is working.

The problem is my poor understanding of where the various files (dll, fxp, xmp,vframe etc) should go in working with Sibelius 7. Before I was working in Sibelius 32-bit format because the reverb I was using was not 64-bit. Arts Acoustic have now issued a 64-bit reverb, plus I now have the MIRx so I want to place everything to just use Sibelius' 64 bit version. VIPro installs in the Steinberg folder - do I have to move it to one of the Avid folders? 

Can someone who works with Sibelius 64-bit give me a breakdown of where the various files should go to ensure a secure loading procedure?

Here are some notes relevant to my sense of confusion, part of which arises from the fact that there seem often to be several folders with the same names but on different pathways – either along the AppData route or the C drive Program files.

This is what some of my current folders contain: AppData\Roaming\Avid\Common           (empty)

AppData\Roaming\Avid\Sibelius7 has relevant folders called ‘House styles’, ‘Playback Configs’, ‘Sounds’, ‘VSL’, and ‘Users’. Of these  ‘Users’ contains a VSL custom data folder which contains Notion special edition and many fxp files. ‘Sounds’ contains fxp files and xml files – the xml are soundset collections, the fxp are presets. The contents of ‘House Styles’ are correct.

AppData\Roaming\VSL contains file folders for Vienna Instruments, VIPro plus, plus 8 configuration settings called appPresets, Vienna Instruments Standalone, Vienna Instruments Pro Standalone, Vienna Instruments Pro, vsldirs1 and vslfrontend.

C:\Program Files has folders for Avid, Vienna Ensemble (with two versions of this, one marked x64  should I delete the other? They are application files), Vienna Instruments, Vienna Instruments Pro, and VSTPlugins (empty).

The C:\Program Files\Avid has a Sibelius 7 folder and one marked VSTPlugins. The latter contains x64 dll files for VE, VIPro standalone, VIPro and VI. There are also application files for ArtsAcoustic reverb dll and VIPro which is dated 2013 whereas the other VIPro x64 is 2011 (?).

I need to know which files I can delete safely, which are in the wrong place, to get VIPro loading again.

I can't use email today so I'll have to post again. I note this is a holiday in Austria so I'll wait for a reply at an appropriate time.

Aside from the folder chaos I've identified (I think) which problem needs fixing first. When in Sibelius 64-bit mode and prompted to load a VSL playback config previously using VIPro the 64 bit version of VEnsemble loads but then doesn't load any data or VIPro instance. It is almost as if the programme just isn't there.

When I search on the term Vienna Instruments Pro from the startup menu I get one result for 'Programmes' which is 'Vienna Instruments Pro standalone' and this will load if I double-click on it. Is this the same as Vienna Instruments Pro 2? Or are they separate things?

I have tried installing from the version of VIPro which was on the USB stick and is the latest.

There is no sign of MIRx on the VIPro standalone if I open it.

I also have a 64 bit version of VEnsemble loading in the 32-bit version of Sibelius (I don't want to use 32-bit Sibelius anymore but I thought this should be sorted out) despite the fact I have gone through all the folders and paths in Program Files (x86) deleteing any 64-bit dlls so they can't load in 32-bit Sibelius. All the others seem to be there (though whether they are in the right folders I do not know).

I can't see why this has happened and feel the answer must be blindingly obvious - but I can't see it.

I don't know which VI Pro version you have got on your USB-stick. In order to go for sure that you have the latest version with MIRx installed, I recommmend downloading and installing the version from your User Area:

Please don't delete or move any .dll files. Simply let Sibelius 64-bit know, where you have installed the 64-bit plugins. This can be done in the Playback Devices/Audio Engine Options/Effects folders menu. If you don't remember where you have installed the 64-bit Vienna Ensemble VST plugin, look for the file "Vienna Ensemble x64.dll".

I'm not surprised that a Sibelius Playback Configuration made with Sibelius 32-bit doesn't work with Sibelius 64-bit. It is loading a different plugin. Here's what you can try in order to get your Sibelius Playback Configurations from 32-bit to 64-bit:
- Start Sibelius 32-bit.
- Load the Playback Configuration.
- Save the VIFrame with Vienna Ensemble.
- Quit Sibelius 32-bit.
- Start Sibelius 64-bit.
- Load the Playback Configution again. If Vienna Ensemble stays empty, load the VIFrame you have saved earlier.
