  • MIRx and Existing Projects

    I've only had a chance to test this with Notion as host so far, but I find that only newly instantiated instances of VI Pro get MIRx reverb.  If I open an existing project created with previous versions of VI Pro and change it to use MIRx, it looks fine on the screen, but there's no reverb.

    Hi Bill,

    This should be fixed with VI PRO 2.4.12535.

    If not, please send such a song to , we´ll have a look.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Presumably, If I have MIR Pro then MIRx doesn't add anything new except the new presets which will be available for MIR Pro in a few weeks. Is MIRx designed for people who don't have/want MIR Pro? Nothing will be gained for my huge orchestral project in which I use MIR Pro with Sibelius by bringing in MIRx?

    Hi Dave,

    => That is correct.

  • If I understand MirX correctly, I can see 2 possible things to be gained from it for MIR Pro users: offloading some reverb processing to slave computers when necessary (I have not yet encountered this need, but you never know...). And being able to use MIR on my mobile setup (presuming that it uses less CPU than MirPro).

    Is this assessment correct?

  • Hi Wolfsterik,

    MIRx actually uses the same amount of CPU processing as MIR PRO does, but you are right, "outsourcing" some MIR PRO work to MIRx could help in certain setups.

    As a MIR PRO user, you will probably miss the flexibility and comfort you already have (changing positions and microphones, seeing all instruments in one room...).

    Best,

    Paul
