How do I load multiple instruments within one instance of a VI?
Hello, I'm unclear on something. I can successfully load a single instance of a VST (Kontakt, Omnisphere, Play, etc) in channels one through 16 of a VEPro instance. However, I'd like to know how to load multiple instruments within the VI instance itself (load 8 patches within an instance of Omnispehere for example), and route them to MIDI tracks in my DAW. Is this possible? Or am I limited to one instrument per VI instance?

Hello Wolfie2112,
Please check out the section "Multi-timbral plug-ins in VE PRO 5" in the VE PRO 5 Manual on page 49.
Regarding routing options, the last section of the manual shows all major sequencers with screenshots that show the flexibility.
Best,
Paul

Maybe Paul misunderstood your question, Wolfie2112. :-)
You will need the free Vienna Ensemble to host several Vienna Instruments receiving data on different MIDI channels "under one hood", so to speak. In case you haven't installed it yet, Vienna Ensemble is available in your VSL User Area:
-> http://www.vsl.co.at/en/68/428/514/210.htm
BTW - don't miss Paul's Tutorial Videos! -> http://www.vsl.co.at/en/211/1343/1348/243.vsl
EDIT: Oh! I see you use VE Pro already! 8-) Then the answer is: Yes, each instance of VI Pro will receive only one MIDI channel. :-)

Hi Wolfe2112
if you are using Cubase and open VE Pro as VST3,you can have 16 channels for each VEPro MIDI IN.
Each Channel will control one Patch of your instrument ( Omnisphere for e.g will use 8 channels for 8 Patches, but only use 1 VE Pro Midi In ).HTH
