Hi all,
newbie here - considering purchasing multiple instances of VE Pro 5. I have read through old posts and threads and know that I can connect two computers either via a gigbit ethernet router, switch or via a direct cable. The challenges are this however:
Can the VE Pro server be made to work over a network while the computer is connected to a larger network (LAN). One of my gigs is at an education institution and the computers need to be on the network for students and staff to be able to log on (centralised authentication protocols as well as licence-key servers). This network will suffer too much congestion for audio operation.
There are two Eth ports available on the Mac Pros - so for instance can the eth-0 port be used for the normal network/internet/IP address (as is currently the case) and Eth-1 be used at the same time for VE Pro communication between the two machines? We have 4 studios each with two machines in each and hoping to network two machines in each studio.
Any help appreciated.

Thanks for the info. So, to clarify, simply set Eth0 to LAN/DHCP. Create a static IP address on Eth1 on both machines (e.g. 10.1.1.1 and 10.1.1.2), connect the two machines Eth1 ports via a Cat 6 cable, fire up VE Pro and good to go? No confusion with VE Pro trying to see network instances on the primary Eth0 rather than secondary Eth1? If that is the case that is indeed great news.
