Router? Switch ? Or Nothing?

Do I need a Router ,switch,or nothing to add a mac mini slave? I'm using old Mac Pro as Master.

Hi GMo, 

Simply connect your 2 computers with a LAN cable and set up your network (GigaBit connection required for best performance, but that´s a standard by now anyway).
