  • Flugelhorn and B-flat Trumpet Falls not accounted for

    Hi

According to the Sibelius Playback 2.2 Pdf, the fall articualtion mark should trigger fall samples in the Flugelhorn and B-flat Trumpet. I noticed that the Sibelius presets that came wih the Woodwind and Brass soundset do not include falls. Are correct presets availabe in a different location?

    Thank you

    Adriaan

  • Hello Adriaan!

The Flugelhorn and Trumpet in Bb presets that come with the sound set do include the falls. They are mapped on the AB-Switch (Switch B) and should be triggered if you use the fall mark.

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • Hello Andi

Thank you for the pointers. I updated the Sibelius presets, and it's working well. I found that I had to change the fall mark in the dictionary to "until next sound ID" for the fall to work properly.

    Thanks again

    Adriaan

  • Hi Adriaan!

If you change the dictionary this way, every note will have a fall at the end until you reset it with "ord.", "natural" or "normal".

In some cases Sibelius may send the A or B switch too early and no fall can be heard or the fall is heard with the previous note. In this case it can be of help to shorten the Live duration of this note and/or the previous note.

    Best,
    Andi
