Hey Guys,
I've sent this to support but it's been a slow process and figured someone on here might have experienced this same issue.
I'm using VEP 64-bit Server
5.1.12219 on a windows 7 64-bit machine.
Our host is Logic 9.1.8 in 64-bit mode on a Lion 10.7.5 machine. To
avoid using the multiport in logic, we recently rebuilt a template with
each VIFrame holding no more than 16 instruments, and on the Logic side we're using the environment,
wiring our midi instruments directly to our instrument channels. We have
a rather large template, so VIFrames of 16 or less instruments has
resulted in roughly 42 VIFrames.
The problem we're having is, the template will work fine until we do
anything that requires VEP to disconnect and reconnect (i.e. switching
projects, making changes to the audio engine in Logic, etc.). Once it
reconnects, our instruments won't respond correctly. On multi mic
instruments such as cineperc, it'll sound like you're only hearing the
most distant mic, and the sound cuts off abruptly when you let go of the
key, instead of ringing out like it normally does. The only solution
for this is to restart VEP.
Anyone else ever experience this? Could this be an issue with my multiprocessing settings? I'm a little unsure on this best setting for that, and the vienna manual is a bit unclear. I have a 6 core (12 thread) processor on my windows machine. I also need to figure out what I should be setting my kontakt multiprocessing setting to as well.
Thanks!
