  • migrating VE Pro Server templates from Mac -> Windows

    Hello,

I've got a bunch of large VE Pro Server templates (Metaframe) that are AU-based.  I wish to migrate them to my new Windows 7 machine (VST).  Is there an easy way to do this?  I'm guessing not, but I thought I'd check.  It would save me several days worth of work if there was.

    Thanks!

    Eric

  • Your VSL stuff will translate, but you'll have to do everything else from scratch, I'm afraid.

  • I figured as much.  Oh well.

I now will have saved most of my plugin presets as logic channels, DP vracks, vienna ensemble pro channels/channel-sets, as well as individual plugins presets.  I realize that this is just a pipe dream, but a standard, industry-wide, cross platform standard plugin/channel/rack container format would be very welcome, indeed.  :)

  • There is a standard. It's called VST. However, Apple (and Avid, for that matter) will never support something that they don't have control over. Having said that, if VEP was able to load VST plugs, instead of AU, then your problem wouldn't exist.  [;)]

  • Same exact setup and desired solution here. I'm wondering if there's a way to save my AU Kontakt instances in a way that my VST Kontakt could interpret?

  • It should be possible to save Kontakt presets from its own plugin GUI. These are most likely cross-platform and can thus be loaded in the Kontakt VST.

  • They are cross platform, thanks! Used "Save as Multi" within the file menu of Kontakt.
