  • MIR and other genres

Hi Been looking at MIR for use with my scoring projects, but I'm also looking for a flexible convolution verb that will work with other genres, eg rock. What is the general consensus about using MIR for non acoustic instruments? I realise this is it's focus but I'm interested in some opinions! Thanks Joel

Especially RoomPack 2 (Studios & Soundstages) fits very well into any modern mix.

A few examples are available on our website:

Teldex Studio: In A Sentimental Mood (Jazz Trio) -> http://www.vsl.co.at/Player2.aspx?Lang=1&DemoID=5550

Recording Sudio Weiler: Rock Drum Demo -> http://www.vsl.co.at/Player2.aspx?Lang=1&DemoID=6106 (... please read the "Description" field for detailed information).

... and listening to the so-called Venue Previews for Recording Studio Weiler, you will hear a few surprises, too: -> http://www.vsl.co.at/en/211/497/1687/364/1929/1581.htm

A few months ago I did an alternative mix inside MIR Pro for the Vienna-based acoustic latin-pop project Annie & Mario. All instruments were recorded bone-dry in a living-room. 8-) Here's a short excerpt of the beautiful song called "Quieres Volar". ... and this is how the mix looked like (... "Instrument 14" wasn't used for anything 😉 ...).
