shock: Just got the Vienna First Edition and gotta say:if this doesn't get me that first Hollywood score,I'm done for. There are some slightly surprising omissions, and some (pleasantly)surprising inclusions-those thundersheet samples are just brilliant.I'm not worried about the leaveouts, because I know this company is going to deliver:don't you have total confidence in this mission?
Anyway, currently working on a show with real strings (wondering if next time, when they hear the Vienna strings, they'll know the difference),and using mainly the brass and percussion. The realism is quite staggering and inspirational to work with.
Just one thing:had to get the Gigastudio and PC to run it (I'm a Mac user by profession)and was shocked at the voracity of the Vienna library on the PC's RAM.It looks like I'm going to need another PC,and then, maybe, run it also on Logic's EXS sampler. And this is only just the beginning. What about the hard disk edition?!Is that why the likes of Messrs Zimmer and Newman run multiple PC's?I'd be very interested to hear of other user's experiences regarding the RAM issue.'Til then,I hope all the Viennists are having as much payed fun as I'm enjoying.'bye for now...
