  • WTS: MIR Pro w/ Roompacks

since my PC has some issues and I have less time for my favorite hobby music [8] I thought about selling my MIR Pro (+ Roompack 1 & 2) licences

can anyone tell me anything about the politicies of selling licences? any rules which i need to follow? is there any plattform for that, such as ebay? transfer only possible with a elicencer key?

    best / thx [;)]

  • Ebay is a no-no. You need to contact VSL by email and apprise them of the situation. They will then tell you the correct way to do it.

    Hi Luigi,

The basic information regarding reselling a license of the Vienna Symphonic Library is available in the FAQ our Terms of License.

Please contact us at to announce the resale, and we'll give you further information on under which circumstances you are allowed to resell your license. The most important prerequisites are that resales need to be announced to us, that we don't allow auction platforms such as eBay, and that a handling fee depending on the current regular price of the product(s) applies.

    Best,

    Stefan

  • as i see you delete posts here? judge dread? ;)

or was it the price i mentioned? i already asked the question via mail if it is ok if i offer it here

  • When it comes to legalities...musical software is protected by very different rules than other types of software.  Honestly I'd be grateful VSL is generous enough to allow resale at all since most competitors don't!

  • yes grateful. but even more grateful that the european justice court protects me as an european costumer buying from an european company.

as stated in the deleted posting i totally understand that reselling libraries are somehow unfair. reselling software on the other hand should not be a matter of being generous or not. hey, vsl charges a fee of almost 25% of the selling price (in my case).
take a look at universal audio. even though the american law preveliges the companies, they even support trading their software. without any fees. it makes the product more valuable (see apple and its resale values)... but that's a maketing strategy issue ;)
