OK, thanks to the help provided by Gusfmm I am able to assigned VE channels to different MIDI ports. However, that's just one side of the equation. I now have to figure out how in Cubase to match a MIDI track output to the appropriate MIDI port in VE.
I'm a former Sonar user who switched to Cubase this week, and for some unknown reason the Cubase forum is showing me as not allowed to post. While I'm trying to straighten that out, maybe there's a Cubase user here who can explain to me how to set up different VE MIDI ports to be accessible to my MIDI tracks. Right now if I look at my MIDI Track output options, all I get are my instances of VE, nothing to do with different MIDI ports within a VE instance.
